The Kitchen Sink Accessory That's a Must Have!
I’m not talking about sink grids here (well, maybe a little), but more importantly what the sink grid is sitting on. This particular grid is a flexible ‘roll up’ grid, and as cool as that is, that’s not even the feature I’m as excited about. That grid isn’t sitting on the bottom of the sink, it's sitting on a ledge (also called a lip) that’s built into the sink. Only a couple different manufacturers have this feature currently, but I’m sure we’re going to be seeing this from just about everyone in a couple years!
Why not gain a little extra cutting space, dish drying space, and some added bonuses for your kitchen sink? These handy extras are easy to store and give you so much more flexibility than you’ve ever had with your sink space. I always recommend the bottom grid (with any sink, fireclay or stainless steel!) just to protect it from all of the abuse of pots, pans, and of course, sharp knives. If you’re as crazy about these accessories as I am, I highly recommend the Julien Fira sink.
Tight on space or have limited counter top area? An option for you might be a sink with a cutting board accessory might be exactly what you need. Instantly gain more chopping/prep space with a sink that has a cutting board designed to sit right on it (with hand/grip areas for easy use!). Kohler makes a few different sink models that have plenty of fun accessories to add!
What do think? Is this something you’d love to have in your kitchen?
