From Dark and Dated to Naturally Modern Bath!

This bathroom was a small space, but we made a big transformation with design!

This dark and dated primary bath needed more than a facelift - we remodeled the space to provide a larger shower, better storage, and a view without a toilet!

These homeowners were tired of seeing the toilet from their bed - and I don’t blame them! In addition to a ‘toilet view’ (one of my pet peeves!), they also had a cramped little shower and minimal counter space.

We knew we weren’t going to make the bathroom larger, so we had to be creative with our solutions. We decided to make some smart plan changes to increase the vanity size, increase the shower size, and relocate the toilet so it wouldn’t be the focal point when the door was open. We kept all of the existing interior and exterior walls and still totally transformed the space!

Check out the before and after plans below to see the updates for yourself.

We were able to extend the length of the shower while keeping costs down by keeping the shower plumbing in the same location and moving the bathroom door. Then we swapped the location of the vanity and toilet so the vanity (and shower) would be the view you’d get from the bedroom - instead of the toilet. We built a pony wall between the shower and the vanity so the vanity could extend wall to wall and give the homeowners some much-needed counter space!

To complete the bathroom transformation, we selected porcelain tile floors, soothing glossy blue subway tile for the shower walls, white quartz countertops, slab (flat panel) cabinetry, and brass fixtures.
