Beach Bungalow Beauty:
A Kitchen Retouch

One of my favorite projects to date!  This beach bungalow beauty was in the works while I was working with the very talented Gridley Company team back in 2015, and it was such an honor to see this completed!  Keeping the original cabinets intact, we repainted them, replaced a trash compactor with a trash pullout cabinet, updated the countertops with the perfect White Princess Quartzite slab, added glossy subway tile for the backsplash, and completed the 'beachy' vibe with a shell mosaic feature tile at the range.

Project Details: This townhome has a reverse floorplan with bedrooms on the bottom level and the kitchen, dining, and living room on the upper level to capture a peek of the ocean. This was a second home (weekend/vacation home) for a family and they wanted to update the kitchen without spending a ton of money, so we painted the existing cabinets, replaced the appliances, sink and faucet, had new white princess quartzite countertops installed with a new full height glossy white subway tile backsplash. To play on the beach vibes, the lower cabinets were painted a fun shade of turquoise and the upper cabinets were painted a soft white.

Project Location: Santa Cruz, CA 95062

Contractor: Gridley Company
