Sweet Suite Addition:
A Vacation-Worthy Oasis

These homeowners wanted to feel like they were on vacation while at home - which, I have to say, I think is a splendid idea! To achieve that, we needed to add on to the house to create a ‘vacation-worthy’ primary suite. We decided to turn the existing primary bath into a walk-in closet, expand the bedroom for a more spacious feel, add a new gas fireplace and a new primary bath, implementing universal design techniques. The result is a restful, tropically-inspired suite with access to the backyard and pool!

Project Details: These homeowners had a tiny master/primary bath and two small reach in closets, and they found themselves using the closets in the other bedrooms because there wasn’t enough space in their bedroom closets, so we decided to turn the existing master bath into a walk in closet and build an addition to extend the back of the house where we could have a large, accessible master/primary bathroom with two areas divided by a pocket door; the vanity area with double sinks and a sliding glass door to the backyard and pool, and the more private space with the toilet and a barrier free shower with a frameless glass enclosure and built in bench. We designed a tray ceiling with accent lighting in the bedroom and added a gas fireplace for additional ambiance.
