White + Wood Kitchen:
Storage and Space Focused Design

This kitchen is nice and open, but has a secret - there’s more cabinet storage around the back side of the fridge, with TONS of wine storage (my favorite feature!). White cabinets keep the space light and bright and the stained wood island adds a little contrast and the LVT (luxury vinyl tile) flooring adds some warmth. The Cambria quartz countertop ties it all together with warm brown tones, soft grays, and a fun wave pattern. Glossy subway tile and matte black hardware add the final touches.

Project Details: These homeowners were convinced they needed to add on to the house to get a bigger kitchen, but we just needed to use the existing space better! We removed some awkward, angled interior walls to open the kitchen to the dining and family rooms. Then we created a large pantry area with tons of wine storage (a must!) and extra cabinet storage and countertop space, which means they can easily entertain in their open kitchen without sacrificing essential storage space! When we removed the interior walls, we had a large center island that could seat 4. Since we removed load-bearing interior walls, we had to integrate a structural post into the layout, so we wrapped it in stain-grade wood and positioned the island to finish next to the post so it wasn’t in the middle of our new open kitchen. This kitchen features custom cabinets, both painted white and stained wood, quartz countertops, a glossy subway tile backsplash, oil-rubbed bronze hardware, stainless steel appliances, and luxury vinyl plank flooring.
