Clean & Contemporary Paradise
A Whole House Remodel in Aptos, CA
It’s always fun to take something original and update the space to fit the family in modern times. For this whole house remodel we turned a 1972 original ranch style home into a clean and contemporary paradise for a family of four. The kitchen features silestone quartz, custom white, blue, and black cabinets, GE Cafe appliances, and brass accents. The bathrooms throughout the home feature a vibrant rainbow shower tile statement, accessible vanity countertop, quartz countertops, and a low curb shower. See the finished project and read on below!
Project Details: For this project we took key areas from around the home and made some smart design updates to make the space one that this family would be able to grow with. We reconfigured the kitchen, opened up the wall between the kitchen and family room to create a more open concept, and we reconfigured the upper level bedrooms and bathrooms to create a primary suite with a spacious primary bath and large walk in closet. The kitchen features painted custom cabinets, silestone quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, an apron front sink, and brass accents. The primary bath features a beautiful glass chevron tile from Island Stone, porcelain floor tile, custom painted black cabinetry, prefabricated quartz countertops, and chrome accents. The kid’s bath is a streamlined, white bathroom with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops and porcelain tile with chrome accents and a super fun alternating rainbow Pratt and Larson subway tile shower surround and the guest bathroom features custom painted cabinetry and a fun hex geometric tile pattern on the bath floor and shower walls. The half bath is a simple spin on black and white with a penny tile floor, white plumbing fixtures and black accents.

2024 NKBA Golden Gate Design Awards: 3rd Place Winner
August 2024 was the first time I entered any of my projects in the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) Golden Gate Design Awards Competition, and in November I found out that my Clean & Contemporary Primary Bath won 3rd Place!
It was an absolute pleasure to work on this project with Talmadge Construction and Budd Perry Tile on this beautiful bathroom.
